NHS RAINBOW CAKE

Sorry this came out late, I was meant to send it a while back (yesterday) but the computer didn’t like it so I couldn’t make it. WordPress then lagged on my phone but it works now so I’m back! This won third prize in school bake off!!!

Oh, its a rich cake alright.

INGREDENTS

  • 6 eggs
  • 375g butter
  • 375g sugar
  • 2tsp vanilla extract
  • 375g self raising flour
  • 2-3tbs milk
  • Food colouring

METHOD

  1. Preheat the oven to gas 4, 180C or 160C fan. Line 7 inch tins.
  2. Cream the butter and sugar and beat the eggs in one at a time.
  3. Stir in the vanilla extract and fold in the flour. If its to dry, add the milk one tbs at a time.
  4. Divide it into as many layers as you need in separate bowls. Add a few drops of your colouring.
  5. Bake 20 to 25 minutes until you can stick a knife in and no mixture sticks on when it comes out.
  6. Cool for about 5 minutes.
  7. Stick together with cream cheese icing or butter cream.
  8. Decorate with bunting and sprinkles
  9. Eat it and don’t say you weren’t warned how rich it is!!!!!!!!!
